A perfectly scarfed dead totara near the edge of the coastal podocarp forest at the Papatowai Moa Hunter site at the mouth of the Tahakopa Hāpua in the Catlins.
From a body of work published and exhibited called "Whenua i maharatia haehae nga takata". Land of memories scarred by people.
About the artist:
Born Christchurch 1949. Ilam Art School 1967 to 1970. Over 54 years of analogue large format photographic practice six books have been published and numerous exhibitions held in public and private galleries. Represented in many collections here and elsewhere.
